My cousin has enlisted me to redo her small dining room. This is the first draft with the first set of options that I will be showing her. She lives in an apartment that she shares with her boyfriend so it needs to appeal to his masculinity as well.
The room is small
The design must be mainly modern with a touch of whimsy
It has to be colorful
It has to be comfy
NOTHING GIRLY OR FRILLY AT ALL!!
Small accessories will be chosen later

I made this set for my mother. This is how she dresses for a typical date night with my dad or for a wedding or just anytime she dresses up.
She loves:
High heels (we both inherited that from her mom)
Gold jewelry
Natural makeup - orange lips and brown nails are her trademark
Bags
Lilies
Her short bottle blonde hair that she's had since the 70s. Hey, when you find something you like, you stick with it, right? (actually looks good with her light skin)
She also loves 70's silhouettes mixed with trendy pieces. I've somehow convinced her that it's ok not to match shoes/bag/outfit. She loves to mix colors now.
My mom is very proud of her age (someone once guessed it at 39 a few years ago)
She'll be 57 later this year and is damn proud of it! You should see the way she throws her hands on her hips when she says it.

Now for the blazer - My Godmother made it for me! The color is in the same family but not terribly close, but amazingly the cut is pretty much the same. Now that I've seen this one, I'm thinking of asking her to add some satin to the lapel or something. Also, I'll probably be asking her to make me another in the salmon color and possibly bright yellow.

This is the most dressed down I've been in a looong time. Although I wear my super casual military boots quite often, it's usually with a skirt and the leggings are mostly worn with heels or a blazer or just something more thought out. Today is all about comfort! No work, just mounds of errands and things.
And then...let the 4 day weekend continue. I'm going skating today, first time in at least 10 years so wish me luck.
Is it just me, or has starbucks suddenly become a "Hippie hangout". I'm sitting inside one right now and the hippies are all around. Maybe it's just the neighborhood that I'm in, idk.
